5 BEST ESP TRICKS EXPLAINED! (Extrasensory Perception)

ESP Tricks / Experiments are frequently used by mentalists all over the world.

These tricks are usually very easy to do (most of them are even self-working) so these tricks are suitable even for beginners.

If you’d like to dive deeper into what ESP (Extrasensory Perception) is, its origins, and scientific view on Extrasensory Perception, you can refer to this article where I explain everything you need to know about ESP.

This article will focus purely on tutorials on how to perform easy, beginner-friendly, and yet effective ESP Experiments.

Best ESP Experiments Revealed Step By Step

If you’re just starting with Mentalism, ESP Experiments are perfect for you.

As already mentioned at the beginning of this article, ESP experiments are usually simple and do not require any sleight of hands.

The only prop that you’ll need is a deck of ESP cards, that contains 25 cards with 5 symbols: circle, cross, wavy lines, square, and star:

ESP Cards used by mentalist

You can get these cards in pretty much any magic shop, on e-bay, or on Amazon.

Below you can see the “master” video with tutorials for all tricks, or you can watch each trick in separate videos that you’ll find below.

At the very end of this article, you’ll also find a tutorial that will explain to you how to falsely shuffle ESP cards which is a very important skill to learn.

TIP: If you’re interested in learning mentalism, I can recommend an excellent online course that will teach you mentalism step by step.

1. Complete Match – Easy ESP Experiment For Beginners

The first experiment is really stunning.

Imagine that you shuffle the cards and deal them into several piles – the spectator can stop you dealing anytime he wants.

Despite the spectator having full control over the dealing, the result is always the same and that is the complete match!

Watch the video below to learn the secret to this amazing and easy ESP experiment!

2. Best Easy ESP Experiment Revealed

This is definitely one of my favorite ESP experiments to perform!

The deck is shuffled and separated into four piles with one card in front of each pile.

The spectator then freely selects one card from each pile and despite this is a truly free choice, he will always select a symbol that is matching a card that is placed in front of each pile!

I performed this experiment many times and always had great reactions!

3. ESP Match – ESP Experiment For Mentalists

Another great ESP experiment that you can learn even if you’re a beginner!

This trick requires literally no skill – just follow the step-by-step instructions and you’ll achieve this great effect.

What I like about this trick is that it can have various endings that you can choose from (some of them I show in the video below).

4. Easy ESP Trick To Learn

This ESP experiment is again just very easy to perform and again you just need to learn the steps and follow them.

The deck is shuffled and the spectator selects one card freely.

This card will be always matching the symbols that are then dealt on the table!

5. ESP Coins

This ESP trick is a bit unusual because it’s also using coins but it’s still easy to perform (same as the other experiments you learned from the videos above).

How To Shuffle ESP Cards

As you have seen, most of the ESP experiments that you’ve learned today are very easy so you can perform them even if you’re a true beginner without any experience.

That’s because these tricks in most cases work on mathematical principles, so they’re in fact “self-working.”

The only skill that you show have is knowing how to falsely shuffle the cards so that the spectator is convinced that you genuinely shuffle the deck while in reality you still keep the defined order that is needed for the tricks to work.

The video below will teach you a very convincing shuffle that is called “Charlier Shuffle” – you’ll see that this shuffle is easy to perform and also very convincing so it’s worth learning.

Final Thoughts

If you search for entry-level mentalism tricks, ESP experiments are a great way to start.
